Flight to Light was founded in dedication to support and assistance for those experiencing domestic abuse or intimate partner violence, and the pathway to a better life through (physical and emotional) safety and security. You deserve nothing less.
What we do for you may look like our Gentle Coaching, which we provide through grounded, educational guidance that helps you understand the abuse you’ve experienced, and how to create a plan that will lead you forward. Or, maybe you’re already safe but don’t know how to move forward and build a new life. We’re here for that, too, because we know a lot about the post-abuse hurting and healing journey, and we can help you through it.
Our support and assistance may look like financial aid in grant form, which could be funds to help with a security deposit at the rental you want to move into, or to cover the filing fee for your divorce. Learn more from our Security Grant page.
If you’ve already made the move into your own place and endeavor to create a stable, sustainable home, we might provide a voucher that is redeemable for an essential household item, or funds to invest in your potential through educational or career pursuits. Learn more from our Survivor Grant page.
We’re also prepared to help if you’ve already accomplished a lot on your own but need a boost for your next forward motion, like relocating or buying a home to call your own. Learn more from our Thriver Grant page.
Our grant programs exist because we know that financial abuse is a component of nearly all domestic abuse and intimate partner violence experiences. It’s expensive to leave, expensive to kickstart a new life, and expensive to grow into the peace and happiness we deserve. Many of us are paralyzed by the idea of getting out, starting over, and moving forward, simply because we cannot afford it. So, if Flight to Light can help mitigate the financial strain of survivors through a gift of monetary value, small or large, we are manifesting change for those who need it most.
This is why we’re here.
If you represent a nonprofit or business that might complement our resources and support efforts, thus broadening our reach, please visit our Network page.
Please note, we determine the goal of our grant funds case-by-case and, as a service nonprofit, we must reserve the right to carefully consider our recipients. In a day and age when some folks just want a quick handout, we cannot satisfy such requests. We’re here for survivors who want real change and a better life; those who are prepared to work toward their goals with the help of our devoted operations team.
*All potential grant recipients must complete our application and consultation processes, for which no fees or obligations apply.
