There may be no time better than the holiday season to help a newly single abuse survivor and mom secure housing.
When she contacted us about our Security Grant, she’d already left her abuser and had been living in a temporary arrangement with family for several months. But ready to take the next step, she’d found an apartment she and her child could move into.
It’s just she needed to figure out how to cover the deposit, which would be due as she signed the lease.
That’s when she wrote us saying she felt completely defeated about starting over, but that “a grant would mean the world for my child and I.”
We were thrilled to confirm that her request is exactly why our mission exists, and then waste no time shoring up the details to provide the funds for her deposit.
She and her child will be moving into their new home just in time for Christmas.
Thank you all so much! I am beyond thankful and appreciate the help. I never realized how hard being a single mom would be, especially about the holidays.
